This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Technology teacher ready to take the next step in their career, or an established leader looking for a fresh challenge within a supportive, forward-thinking school environment.The successful candidate will lead a thriving Design Technology department, teaching Design Technology and Food Preparation and Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4 while driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The school is seeking a passionate practitioner with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes and inspiring students to develop creativity, confidence and practical skills.The Role:As Team Leader of Design Technology, you will:
- Lead and develop the Design Technology department, promoting excellence in teaching and learning.
- Teach engaging and challenging Design Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement.
- Support, mentor and develop colleagues within the department.
- Ensure resources, workshops and specialist facilities are managed effectively and safely.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and play an active role in school life.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Significant experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the current Design Technology curriculum.
- Experience of raising attainment and supporting students of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A commitment to inclusion, professional development and delivering exceptional outcomes for all students.
