About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join a supportive Multi-Academy Trust in Wakefield. This is a vital position within the school community, ensuring high levels of pupil attendance, safeguarding awareness, and strong communication with families and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attendance monitoring - Track, analyse, and report on daily attendance and punctuality.
  • Parent liaison - Build positive relationships with parents/carers to address attendance concerns.
  • Safeguarding awareness - Escalate concerns promptly and follow school safeguarding procedures.
  • Data management - Maintain accurate attendance records using school MIS systems.
  • Multi-agency collaboration - Work with pastoral teams, EWO services, and external partners to support pupils.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an Attendance Officer or in a similar school-based administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of attendance legislation and safeguarding.
  • Confident using MIS systems (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom or similar).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider pastoral team.
