Your new company Hays Education are working in partnership with a highly creative and forward-thinking further education provider in East London. This specialist setting supports 16-19-year-olds to develop industry-relevant skills, combining academic study with practical, career-focused learning in the creative arts sector. Your new role As a Visual Arts Tutor specialising in Film & Media, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and industry-relevant teaching across creative programmes. You will teach approximately 19 hours per week and contribute to a range of Visual Arts pathways, including Film, Graphics and Photography. You will:
- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons across visual arts programmes
- Support students' academic and personal development through effective tutorial and pastoral guidance
- Track student progress, attendance and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and course planning
- Support enrichment activities such as trips, industry engagement and course promotion
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards and positive outcomes for learners
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential:- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Visual Arts subject
- Experience delivering high-quality teaching and assessment
- Experience working with 16-19 learners
- Strong subject knowledge across visual arts disciplines
- Ability to support student wellbeing and manage behaviour effectively
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people
- Teaching qualification (or working towards)
- Industry experience within Film, Media, Graphics or Photography
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or similar software
- Experience contributing to curriculum development and collaborative teaching teams
