This multi-academy trust has 9 schools based in the north of Greater Manchester, with a focus on transforming the lives of children and young people. They are dedicated to raising standards and performance to ensure that pupils can achieve their best potential. The role of Network Manager will report directly to the IT Director and be based at a newly built school in the Oldham area. As Network Manager, you will oversee three primary schools and manage the IT team for all four schools, which includes 1 Senior IT Technician and 1 IT Technician. You will be responsible for overall network management and support from an IT service perspective, working on central IT projects and developing the use of IT services in collaboration with the wider IT team and academic staff.
The organisation works on Microsoft 365, and you will lead on its use, ensuring the network is maintained, servers are operational, and the cyber response plan is upheld. You will oversee the help desk function, ensuring tickets are responded to efficiently and resolved correctly, while continuously reviewing practices and suggesting improvements.
Working closely with the IT Director, you will take ownership of IT projects and strategies to support the organisation's development and growth. You will also develop the skills of the two IT Technicians through reviews, appraisals, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring objectives are met. With responsibility for the 4 sites, you will manage the school IT budget and liaise with suppliers regarding the procurement of new IT equipment.
This role is suitable for an established Network Manager or a Senior Technician with education sector experience looking to move into a managerial position. Please note this role will be based on site 5 days a week.
To succeed in this role, you will need experience overseeing IT in the education sector, ideally managing a team of technicians or mentoring junior staff. Experience with Microsoft 365 and delivering IT projects across an organisation is essential. A passion for the education sector and interest in managing a wider IT team is required.
In return, you will join a well-established and high-performing team, reporting to an experienced IT Director. The salary for this role will be between £37,000 and £45,000, with holiday entitlement of either 25, 29, or 32 days plus bank holidays, depending on experience. You will also have access to a benefits package including an employee assistance programme and discounts through a blue light card.
