Hays Education are pleased to be working in partnership with a local primary school to recruit a dedicated and proactive Site Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site and supporting the upkeep and development of the premises.

Working Hours

Monday to Wednesday: 7:00am - 4:00pm Thursday to Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm Full time, all year round Key Responsibilities

Opening and securing the school premises.

Maintaining site security and responding to out-of-hours alarms when required.

Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Monitoring heating, lighting, and building systems.

Supporting statutory compliance checks, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and water hygiene testing.

Ensuring the site remains clean, safe, and well-presented.

Managing waste disposal and site housekeeping.

Identifying and addressing health and safety concerns.

Supporting safe vehicle and pedestrian access during school drop-off and collection times.

Undertaking risk assessments and following COSHH procedures.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience in a site supervision, caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role.

Practical maintenance and DIY skills.

A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

The ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively.

Good communication and organisational skills.

A proactive and reliable approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
