A welcoming and well-respected secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an experienced interim Examination Manager to join their dedicated support team. Your new role
As interim Examination Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the smooth running of all internal and external examinations, ensuring every process is delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with awarding body regulations. Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing and distributing examination timetables
- Organising and coordinating internal and external examinations
- Recruiting, training, supervising and managing invigilators
- Liaising with examination boards, staff, parents and students
- Ensuring controlled assessment marks, predicted grades and examination entries are accurately recorded and submitted
- Managing examination paperwork, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Supporting results days and post-results services
- Keeping up to date with examination regulations and attending relevant training
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for a highly organised and proactive individual who can confidently manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as an Examinations Officer or Examination Manager
- Strong knowledge of current examination regulations and procedures
- Excellent IT and administrative skills
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with staff, students, parents and external agencies
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider school team
- A positive, professional and solution-focused approach
All applicants will be subject to satisfactory references covering the last two years and must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if one is not already held on the Update Service.
