Your new company, Hays Education, has recently seen an increased need for local SEMH Learning Support Assistants in schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply. Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering the areas of Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and all the in between! This means as a Teaching Assistant working through Hays, you will have local work in your area covering schools that only you want to work in.

The school supports approximately 35 pupils on roll to ensure that they can provide ample opportunities for children who need a nurturing, encouraging, and supportive environment, specifically for those who will reintegrate back into a mainstream setting. The school consists of a core team of the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, five teachers, and five support staff. Further support is also provided by regional and national staff, who work with a number of schools across our group.

Your new role

We are currently recruiting for full-time SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join the team ASAP on a temporary - permanent basis. This role is a term-time only position. We are looking for exceptional people who thrive on working in challenging settings to work with the school's exceptional pupils. We are seeking people who thrive on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about supporting the development of social, life, and independence skills and who truly want to make a difference in the lives of young people.

The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact on the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences, and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage students as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate to support the child's education.

What you'll need to succeed

The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
