Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Darwen to recruit a dedicated Science Technician to join their science department.
This is a part-time position, Monday to Friday, working 4 hours per day and the role is available for an immediate start or from September.
The school is seeking someone with previous experience in a Science Technician or similar laboratory-based role, although they would also be keen to hear from experienced Science Teachers who are looking to step away from classroom teaching and move into a technician role while remaining within an educational environment.
Your new role Prepare, set up and clear away equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and safe practical experiments in line with the curriculum Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained, cleaned, stored correctly and available for use when required Conduct routine checks, maintenance and stock control of laboratory resources and equipment Order and monitor science consumables and supplies, ensuring departments remain well stocked.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including COSHH requirements and risk assessment procedures.
