Your new company Hays Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to work within a highly regarded specialist provision supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex learning difficulties.
This provision supports children and young people with significant communication needs, sensory processing differences, and a wide range of cognitive profiles. You will play a key role in delivering personalised, structured and nurturing learning experiences that help pupils progress both academically and emotionally.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes
- Supporting pupils with ASD, sensory needs, communication differences and SEMH challenges
- Working closely with skilled support staff, therapists and senior leaders
- Creating a calm, safe and predictable classroom environment
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on stability and clear communication
What you'll need to succeed:
- QTS/QTLS with experience in specialist SEND settings
- Strong understanding of ASD, sensory needs and communication-support strategies
- Ability to adapt teaching to a wide range of abilities and learning styles
- A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
