Your new role

Hays Education are looking for a full-time Year 6 Teacher to cover maternity leave starting in September. This role will run for two terms and presents an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school during a key stage of pupils' educational journey. As the Year 6 class teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, preparing pupils for their transition to secondary school and supporting them in achieving their full potential. You will work closely with colleagues and school leaders to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are maintained throughout the duration of the cover.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Upper Key Stage 2 or Year 6
  • Good understanding of SATs preparation and end-of-Key-Stage expectations
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive, professional and proactive approach to teaching
