Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a lasting impact in a specialist school environment? Hays Education is proudly partnered with a network of Special Schools across London through our PSL contracts, and we are seeking dedicated SEN practitioners to join our expert teaching pool.

About the Role

We are recruiting for a range of special school settings, including:

  • Autism-specific schools
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) schools
  • Schools for Moderate-Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties) provisions
  • Specialist settings with sensory, physical or complex needs

These roles involve working with small classes, highly personalised learning, multi-disciplinary teams, and bespoke curriculum pathways designed to support each pupil's individual needs. Positions are available on a long-term, short-term, and day-to-day supply basis, with opportunities for permanent roles for the right teachers.

What We're Looking For

We welcome teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have prior experience working in a special school or specialist SEN environment
  • Are confident delivering an adapted, personalised or alternative curriculum
  • Use creative, differentiated teaching strategies
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour regulation skills
  • Bring patience, resilience, and a passion for inclusive education

Experience with PECS, Makaton, sensory approaches, or therapeutic teaching is highly valued.
