You will be joining a specialist Alternative Provision setting that supports primary-aged pupils with ASD and SEMH needs. The school offers a highly structured and therapeutic environment, with a strong focus on wellbeing, behaviour, and individual progress. With small class sizes and a collaborative staffing model, you will work closely with experienced support staff to provide consistent, high-quality provision for pupils who require a more bespoke approach to learning.
You will take full class responsibility for a small group of 8 primary-aged pupils, supported by two Teaching Assistants. This is a full-time role starting in the Autumn term, where you will be expected to lead learning confidently and independently. Your role will include:
- Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and differentiated lessons
- Leading the classroom with confidence, supported by two TAs
- Supporting pupils with ASD and SEMH needs to re-engage with education
- Establishing clear routines, boundaries, and expectations
- Creating a nurturing, calm, and structured environment
- Promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and progress
- Working within a therapeutic approach to support emotional regulation
This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running, take initiative, and make an immediate impact.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong experience working with pupils with ASD
- Significant experience supporting SEMH needs
- Confidence managing a small class independently and leading support staff
