Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Preston who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Classroom Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Working across a range of subjects and year groups, you will provide classroom support to teachers, assist students with their learning, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will play a key role in encouraging engagement, building confidence, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students where required.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
- Help prepare learning resources and classroom materials.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in lessons.
- Support students with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Supervise students during lessons and other school activities as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with young people, ideally within a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications or experience supporting education is desirable but not essential.
