Woodfield School is delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our community to take on the position of SENCO/Senior Teacher with responsibility for Learning and Assessment, on a full time and permanent basis.

Key responsibilities of the position include being an active member of SLT and assisting the principal in leading the school. You will undertake the usual responsibilities of a class teacher, whilst taking responsibility for designing and delivery of a robust Science provision across the school. The appointed candidate will ensure that pupils' academic needs are prioritised by providing the strategic leadership for interventions for all pupils. Through knowledge and experience as a SENCo, you will lead on processes for identifying and supporting pupils. You will also lead and monitor interventions so that all pupils have access to a dynamic and ambitious educational experience with appropriate teaching methods, resources and assessment.

Finding the right person for this position is key for us and our pupils. The successful candidate will have:

  • QTS (Essential)
  • Evidence of successful and innovative teaching across a range of key stages (Essential)
  • National professional qualification (NPQH/ NPQSL) (Desirable)
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN and awareness of how to adapt learning to meet the needs of the child (Essential)
  • Evidence of effective delivery in primary education (Desirable)
  • Have at least two years in a leadership or management role in an educational environment (Essential)
