Your new company Hays Education are looking to recruit qualified and unqualified Teaching Assistants for a variety of daily and long term supply jobs in Primary schools across Sefton LA. Starting in September 2026, these Teaching Assistant jobs can vary from 1 day to whole school terms. We also have full and half day cover jobs available. Whatever your personal circumstances, we will have a job to suit your needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will provide support and supervision for students aged between 3-11. You will be responsible for encouraging their engagement in the learning process, helping the class teacher and working with them towards agreed aims and objectives. The successful Teaching Assistant will work 1:1 and at times in small groups with students as part of a professional team contributing towards meeting the academic, social, behavioural and emotional needs of young people.

What you'll need to succeed: We are looking for individuals with a genuine desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of young people. High levels of motivation, commitment and enthusiasm are essential, as well as the ability to inspire, motivate and empathise with young people. To work as a Teaching Assistant via Hays, you will need to complete our registration process, which includes completing an enhanced DBS check, and providing references from within the last 2 years to show that you have completed a relevant qualification and/or have experience of working with school-aged children.
