Your new company
This secondary school is based in the Bacup area, on the outskirts of East Lancashire, and they have approached Hays seeking an IT Technician to join their team on a temporary basis to provide interim cover. The school is easily accessible via the M65 and M62, as well as having good public transport links, and you will be joining a supportive and welcoming team where you will also have support from the wider central IT team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for managing all IT service requests on site, as well as supporting the delivery of ongoing projects and upgrades on site, working alongside central IT colleagues. On a daily basis, you will be managing and resolving IT requests from both pupils and staff, where the requests could relate to hardware, software, or bespoke technologies and systems, always ensuring you are providing a high level of customer service. Duties will include the upgrading and installation of software, installation and building of hardware, managing all printers and AV equipment and supporting them with interactive whiteboards and educational technologies. You will become an integral part of the support team here, where you will have the opportunity to both utilise and further develop your skills and experience, as well as gain experience working in an educational setting.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have significant first line IT support experience, ideally having worked in a face-to-face environment, providing on-site support to end users. You will have experience supporting both hardware and software, with experience working in the education sector as advantageous. You will be available to start this position on the 6th January and be able to continue on an ongoing basis.
