Hays Education are a leading agency in the South Yorkshire area. Due to demand from our partner schools, we are expanding our pool of available staff for a variety of assignments. Join us now for the opportunity to make a difference in the local community whilst enhancing the lives of young people.
Here at Hays we work closely with a number of vibrant and forward thinking Primary schools, dedicated to the success of their students. Through our strong working relationships with our partner schools, we are able to bring a variety of opportunities to our staff, and are looking to appoint a number of HLTAs for upcoming roles.
The Role
The role of HLTA is a varied one, with duties including;
- Supporting young people within a classroom setting
- Providing support to the class teacher and deliver/lead engaging lessons
- 1:1 support for students identified as having additional learning needs
- Promoting an inclusive learning environment, modelling the ideal behaviours
- Preparing classroom resources
- Assisting with extra-curricular activities and school trips
About You
The ideal candidates for these roles would:
- Have relevant experience of a minimum of 20 days in the last two years within a classroom
- Hold a recognised higher level teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
- Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and dedication to their role
- Possess key soft skills such as empathy, compassion, patience and passion for education
- Hold a DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
