Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Burnage to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year. This is a key role within the school, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and fully operational to support a positive learning environment for staff and pupils.

Location: Burnage, M19

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Temporary until end of academic year

Rate: Up to £18/hour DOE

Hours: Full-time, 6am - 1:30pm (some flexibility on hours available)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school site
  • Opening and securing the premises (early start required)
  • Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the building and grounds
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
  • Managing contractors and overseeing works on site
  • Supporting with statutory checks, audits, and site inspections
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the school

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a school-based facilities, site manager, or caretaker role
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance within an educational setting
  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage and prioritise workload independently
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe school environment
  • An Enhanced Children's DBS on the Update Service
