Your New Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning and development within the classroom. You will work closely with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, providing both whole-class and small-group support. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Working with small groups or individual pupils
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Recent experience working within a primary school setting
  • A positive, proactive and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Hays
