Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Exeter city centre to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community where you will play a key role in raising attainment, supporting pupils across the primary age range, and delivering high-quality learning experiences. The school is looking for a confident HLTA who is comfortable leading whole-class learning, supporting intervention groups, and working closely with teachers to ensure every child reaches their potential.
The Role
- Deliver planned lessons and cover classes in the absence of the teacher.
- Provide targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups.
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required.
- Help create an engaging, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and school leaders.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level within a primary school.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Experience delivering lessons and leading learning independently.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
