Your new school
You will be joining a highly supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) specialist school dedicated to providing a nurturing, structured and trauma-informed environment for young people who have found mainstream education challenging. Your new role
As a full time KS1/KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to primary aged pupils with SEMH needs. Working closely with the class teacher and pastoral team, you will help create an environment where children feel safe, understood and ready to engage in learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with varying SEMH and SEN needs.
- Assisting with the delivery of lessons across the KS1/KS2 curriculum, adapting learning where needed.
- Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and daily routines.
- Building strong, trusting relationships to promote stability, confidence and engagement.
- Contributing to a calm, structured classroom environment using trauma informed strategies.
- Assisting with phonics, literacy and numeracy interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
