Your new company

This Design Technology Technician job is based at a secondary school in South Yorkshire. The school has a dedicated workforce that focuses on the educational outcomes of all students and aims to create a learning community that is both supportive and safe in an environment of mutual respect.

Your new role

This school is currently looking for a full-time DT Technician to start as soon as possible. Your time in this role will include:

  • Support in preparing for practical lessons
  • Maintain equipment
  • Ensure a safe working environment for both staff and pupils
  • Manage resources, including ordering, issuing and distributing stock
  • Maintain and repair materials and equipment as required

What you’ll need to succeed

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Ability to multitask
  • Secondary Materials Health and Safety (essential)
  • Inventory management
  • Safe Use of Wood sawing Machines S1HS (essential)
  • Safe Use of Planer/Thicknesser Machine S8HS (essential)
  • Passion for woodwork

We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if you don’t already have a DBS on the update service.
