Hays Education is working with secondary schools across Sheffield who need enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors for flexible day-to-day assignments, with opportunities that can lead into longer-term placements.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervising whole classes when the usual teacher is absent
- Delivering pre-planned lesson materials, with no planning or marking required
- Managing classes of secondary students aged 11-16
- Keeping students focused, engaged, and on task throughout the lesson
- Creating a calm, positive, and productive learning environment
- Following school behaviour policies and feeding back to staff where needed
Who we're looking for:
- You don't need to be a qualified teacher to succeed as a Cover Supervisor.
- Experience working with young people aged 11-16
- Sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, tutoring, or community leadership experience
- Previous school-based experience, such as teaching assistant or classroom support work
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage groups
- A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
