We're looking for caring, proactive Independence & Learning Support Assistants to support young people aged 16-25 with additional needs. This role focusses on helping learners build confidence, communication and essential life skills in both classroom and practical settings.
As an Independence & Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support learners through person-centred, independence-focused activities
- Work closely with teachers to deliver accessible, engaging lessons
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support
- Promote positive behaviour, communication and social interaction
- Assist with practical tasks such as note-taking and organisation
- Support learners during unstructured times, modelling appropriate social skills
- Maintain accurate records of progress and achievements
- Provide personal care, mobility support and mealtime assistance where required
- Follow safeguarding, care plans and infection-control procedures
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience in SEN, care or education
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Understanding of safeguarding and learner welfare
- Willingness to support with personal care
