Hays are partnering with a specialist provision for pupils aged 10-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated ICT Teacher who is committed to improving outcomes and life chances for young people with complex additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive and experienced team within a nurturing specialist setting, where staff are encouraged to think creatively and build positive relationships that enable pupils to thrive both personally and academically.

The successful candidate will be proactive, resilient and enthusiastic, with the ability to inspire and engage pupils through innovative teaching and strong behaviour management skills.

Start Date: September 2026

Location: Crewe, CW1

Hours: Full time or part time

Contract: Permanent

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging, well-planned and differentiated ICT lessons
  • Maintain high expectations of academic achievement and behaviour
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Effectively manage behaviour within a classroom environment
  • Provide direction and support to Teaching Assistants
  • Promote positive mental health and trauma-informed approaches
  • Contribute to subject leadership as directed by the Senior Leadership Team
  • Support pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and socially

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching ICT
  • A successful track record of motivating and engaging young people
  • Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of SEMH needs
  • Awareness of trauma-informed practices and positive mental health promotion
  • A flexible, energetic and proactive approach
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • A full driving licence (essential)
  • Previous experience within a special school or alternative provision setting would be advantageous. However, candidates with the right attitude, resilience and commitment are encouraged to apply.
