Hays Education are working with a number of inclusive and supportive primary schools in the Small Heath (B10) area who are looking to appoint caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants for the new academic year starting in September 2026. Your new role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
- Implementing strategies to support behaviour and engagement
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Roles are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, with long-term opportunities throughout the academic year.
What you'll need to succeed
