These schools are looking for dependable people who can offer consistent, individual support and help pupils enjoy positive experiences in the classroom.Whether you already have school-based SEN experience or have supported children in another setting, this could be a great next step in a genuinely rewarding career. Your new role No two pupils are the same, so your support will be tailored to the child and the school. You may work closely with one pupil, support a small intervention group or help children access learning within the wider classroom. Responsibilities may include: Building a trusting and consistent relationship with a pupil who has additional needs Adapting activities for children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs or other learning needs Using agreed strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour Helping pupils develop independence, communication and confidence Sharing observations and progress with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive classroomThere are full-time and part-time positions available, including longer-term placements across the academic year.
