We are working on behalf of an SEN School who are looking for a one-to-one Teaching Assistant to work with one of their pupils this term. The details are as follows:
- The school is located in north Birmingham and is a 10-minute drive from the city centre.
- The school caters for children at KS4 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
- The role is to start as soon as possible and will continue until Christmas in the first instance.
- The role entails supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis, the pupil concerned has high levels of SEMH.
- The role is Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm on a term-time only time sheet basis.
- The school will support with training for candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings.
- The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH.
- You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques.
- The school will consider people who have worked in children's residential care or similar settings.
