Hays Education are proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust in Barnet to recruit dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across the trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve both academically and personally within an inclusive school environment.

The successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff, SEND departments, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support for students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties.

Your new role

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.

Assist students in accessing the curriculum across a range of subjects.

Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence, and engagement.

Support students with emotional regulation and social development.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs, and external professionals.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs.

Experience within a school, youth work, care, support work, or coaching environment is desirable.

A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
