About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join a supportive Multi Academy Trust in Wakefield. This is a vital position within the school community, ensuring high levels of pupil attendance, safeguarding awareness, and strong communication with families and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Attendance monitoring - Track, analyse, and report on daily attendance and punctuality.
- Parent liaison - Build positive relationships with parents/carers to address attendance concerns.
- Safeguarding awareness - Escalate concerns promptly and follow school safeguarding procedures.
- Data management - Maintain accurate attendance records using school MIS systems.
- Multi agency collaboration - Work with pastoral teams, EWO services, and external partners to support pupils.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as an Attendance Officer or in a similar school based administrative role.
- Strong understanding of attendance legislation and safeguarding.
- Confident using MIS systems (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom or similar).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider pastoral team.
