1:1 Teaching Assistant (Post-16) - WalsallFull-Time | Long-Term Opportunity | Immediate Start Are you a calm, resilient and confident individual who can build positive relationships with young people who require additional support?Hays Education is working with a specialist setting in Walsall to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Post-16 student on a full-time basis.This role requires someone who can remain professional, patient and consistent when faced with challenging behaviours. The student can become verbally confrontational, struggles with social interactions, and may challenge adults, peers and boundaries throughout the school day. The successful candidate will need to be confident in managing difficult situations whilst maintaining a positive and supportive approach. The Role Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Post-16 learner Supporting engagement within education and daily activities Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours Building a trusting and professional working relationship Encouraging positive communication and social interactions Working closely with teaching staff and wider professionals Promoting independence and preparing the young person for adulthoodThe Ideal Candidate Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent approach Ability to maintain professional boundaries and consistency Experience within education, care, youth work, residential care or alternative provision would be advantageous Able to commit to a full-time role and provide consistency for the studentEssential Requirements Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Enhanced Adult Workforce DBS Previous experience supporting young people with additional needs or behaviours that challenge Right to work in the UK Availability to work full-time, Monday to FridayWhy Apply?
