Your new company Hays are recruiting on behalf of Birmingham City Council for Qualified Social Worker for their Hospital OPAL team based in Birmingham QE Hospital. Your new role As a qualified social worker, you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have recently worked as a qualified Adult Social Worker with experience in keeping and maintaining accurate records, making sure any assessment statuses, admissions and discharges are captured correctly and initial assessments. You will have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable to pickup new and existing cases, in particular, safeguarding and mental capacity assessments. It is imperative that you have an in-depth understanding and be able to manage any challenges with appropriate methods which will vary from case to case. The OPAL TEAM operates 35 hours per week over a 7-day period, including weekends and bank holiday work. What you’ll need to succeed Previous direct experience of delivering social work to Adult Service users is essential. You must also have knowledge of key legislation underpinning Social Work, able to produce reports and maintain records. To be successful, you will require a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent). It is also essential that you have a current professional registration with Social Work England (previously HCPC) and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with adults in a Social Work position within the last 2 years.
