Your new role
As a Multi-Trade Operative, you'll carry out a wide range of day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs and minor works across occupied and void properties. Your work will involve a blend of trades such as carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical work, plastering, tiling and general building maintenance. Typical duties include:
- Completing reactive repairs and scheduled maintenance
- Delivering high-quality workmanship with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction
- Working independently while also supporting wider team projects
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting of completed tasks
- Providing excellent service when engaging with tenants, clients and colleagues
No two days are the same, and the role offers great variety for someone who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrable experience in at least two core trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, basic electrics)
- A strong understanding of property maintenance and repair methods
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A full UK driving licence
- A positive, proactive attitude and commitment to delivering quality work
Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds) are desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate strong practical experience.
