Care Assistant - Hockley, Birmingham
Full time - Monday to Friday, Ongoing. 8.20am to 3.20pm OR 9.15am to 4.15am (no break)
Hays has partnered with a wonderful Care Home that is looking for compassionate and reliable Care Assistants to join their friendly team. In this role, you will support adults to maintain and develop their independence through personalised care, activities, and enablement programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person‑centred physical, emotional and practical support.
- Act as a key worker: helping plan, record and review individual support needs.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as washing, toileting, feeding and mobility (respecting cultural and religious needs).
- Support individuals to develop life skills, access work experience, and take part in meaningful activities that enhance wellbeing.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, colleagues and external agencies.
- Work both independently in the community and as part of a wider team.
- Follow all health, safety, safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a care or support worker in the last 2 years in the UK.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to follow support plans and risk assessments.
- Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Willingness to undertake training and work flexibly across different locations.
- Minimum of an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential.
