Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading, established & growing public services organisation to recruit a dynamic, experienced & hands-on Finance Business Partner. The position will offer flexible working hours and remote working with monthly site visits across Wiltshire to enable effective business partnering. A varied permanent position, which will play an integral part within the Finance team to provide excellent finance services across multiple sites in Wiltshire. The role reports to the Finance Manager, performing business partnering across operational contracts, and is responsible for all aspects of financial support and advice. You will deliver a robust budget monitoring process, providing analysis, develop financial reporting, lead the general ledger control process, along with various accounting projects. Open to finance professionals who are part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience, a study package for finance qualifications is on offer if required.
Your key duties will include performing the role of finance business partner to operations contract management, responsible for all aspects of financial support and advice. You will work closely with operational management to deliver budget monitoring processes, providing analysis, challenging assumptions to deliver budget accuracy, along with driving financial awareness in operations. You will develop annual budget monitoring models and financial reporting to enhance financial insight, working closely with the Finance Manager to provide analysis to the Senior Leadership team. You will lead the general ledger control process, including transactional investigations, invoice re-coding, and journal entries, along with being responsible for the key control reconciliations. You will be involved in various accounting improvement projects, focused on financial modelling, payroll overtime processes, invoice processing, and purchase orders.
To be considered for this permanent Finance Business Partner role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. Strong MS Excel skills, with knowledge of financial systems, a proactive and self-motivated working approach with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines. You will have strong communication skills to effectively build relationships at all levels across the organisation and externally, good interpersonal skills to resolve problems and implement change initiatives. You will have a customer-focussed approach, an ability to deal with data accurately/effectively and maintain confidentiality. You will be a team player who can use a high level of judgement and use your own initiative to work with minimum supervision. You will hold a valid driving licence with the use of a car to travel between locations in Wiltshire when required monthly. Experience within a public sector organisation with knowledge of local government processes would be advantageous but not essential.
This permanent Finance Business Partner role offers a salary up to £44,000 per annum, remote working with monthly visits to sites across Wiltshire.
