Due to continued growth and increasing regulatory obligations, the organisation is expanding its controls and compliance function and is seeking a highly skilled SOX Senior Manager to lead its group-wide SOX programme.
Your new role:
- Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the organisation's SOX framework, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and ongoing management of internal controls over financial processes.
- Lead the end‑to‑end SOX compliance programme, including scoping, documentation, testing and reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure financial processes adhere to SOX requirements and internal control best practice.
- Partner with Finance, Technology, Operations and Risk teams to strengthen control maturity across the business.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance controls.
- Provide training and guidance to the wider business, raising awareness and embedding a strong controls culture.
- Present regular updates, deficiencies, and remediation progress to senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.
What you'll need to succeed:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent).
- Significant experience managing SOX programmes within a large, multi‑entity or complex organisation.
- Strong technical knowledge of internal controls, financial processes and risk management.
- Previous experience within infrastructure, engineering, utilities, construction or a similar environment is highly advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructively, influence decision‑making and operate at senior levels.
- A proactive, solutions‑driven mindset with a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
