Your new role
Working within a down-to-earth, hardworking industrial office environment, you will be part of a collaborative finance team where no two days are the same. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will gain valuable exposure to all aspects of transactional finance and accounting, providing a solid foundation for a long-term career in finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and organising the general accounts inbox, ensuring queries are allocated appropriately and resolved in a timely manner.
- Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Assisting with sales ledger administration and customer invoicing.
- Supporting credit control activities and monitoring outstanding customer payments.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance.
- Preparing and posting accounting journals under supervision.
- Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Processing employee expense claims.
- Assisting with the preparation of management reports and financial information.
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal departments to resolve finance-related queries.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, financial controls and accounting processes.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team as required.
What you will need to succeed
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, or AAT qualification.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
