Your new company is partnering with an entrepreneurial manufacturing business that is part of a larger group to recruit a dynamic, experienced & hands-on Company Accountant based in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. A permanent position reporting directly to the Group Financial Director & Company Directors in a varied accounting role.
The position will involve management accounting, providing insightful financial analysis to enable commercial decision-making, process improvement through to transactional duties such as supplier payment runs, purchase ledger & cashbook reconciliations. The position is open to both part-qualified accountants or finance professionals who are qualified by experience, looking to really add value and take control of the accounting function.
Your key duties will involve:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Maintaining the costing of products
- Stock counts and valuations
- Supporting directors and senior management with commercial/operational decision-making through the provision of timely financial information and analysis
- Supporting process improvement, controls and reporting across the business
- Working with non-financial teams, including production and purchasing to aid business growth
- Submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Posting journal entries
- Reconciling cashbooks
- Preparing weekly/monthly supplier payment runs
- Performing credit control
- Raising purchase orders
- Involvement in any ad-hoc financial duties for senior management
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Company Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position. You should be motivated with a proactive working approach, a team player who can also work independently, with strong communication skills to build internal relationships across departments and with external parties. You will be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/AAT or qualified by experience, commercially aware and adaptable to business needs. You will be able to produce accurate work in a timely manner with high attention to detail. Key MS Excel skills and knowledge of financial systems are essential, along with the ability to learn new processes and manage workloads to meet deadlines. Experience within the manufacturing sector, Sage financial systems and working within a small/medium-sized business would be advantageous but not essential.
This permanent Company Accountant role offers a salary up to Β£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, and is based in Cinderford, Gloucestershire.
