As Senior Buyer, you will lead end-to-end procurement and commercial activities across high-value projects, ensuring value for money, effective risk management, and strong supplier performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading complex procurement exercises from sourcing strategy through to contract award
- Managing major supplier and subcontractor relationships across construction and infrastructure projects
- Developing procurement and category strategies that support programme delivery
- Negotiating contracts, commercial terms, and long-term framework agreements
- Supporting cost management, forecasting, change control, and commercial risk mitigation
- Providing procurement assurance and ensuring compliance with governance and procurement regulations
- Advising senior stakeholders on sourcing, contracting, and supplier management strategies
- Driving supply chain innovation, resilience, sustainability, and continuous improvement
- Supporting and mentoring buyers and junior procurement professionals
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience within procurement, sourcing, commercial management, or supply chain management
- Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or major projects environments
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practice, contract management, and commercial governance
- Experience managing complex procurements and high-value supplier contracts
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage risk and deliver value
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and public procurement regulations would be advantageous
