An established and highly respected organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join its procurement function. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused procurement professional to play a key role in delivering strategic sourcing activities, managing supplier relationships, and driving value across a diverse category portfolio.
As Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, ensuring best practice procurement processes are followed while delivering commercial value and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading complex, multi-stage tender and sourcing exercises from initial market analysis through to contract award and implementation.
- Conducting spend analysis, market research and supplier engagement activities to support sourcing strategies.
- Managing relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure successful procurement outcomes.
- Developing high-quality tender documentation, specifications and evaluation frameworks.
- Managing procurement activities through an eProcurement platform, ensuring efficiency, compliance and robust audit trails.
- Leading supplier negotiations to secure favourable commercial terms and contractual agreements.
- Establishing and managing contracts to ensure value, performance and risk mitigation.
- Supporting the successful implementation of new supplier agreements across the wider business.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Contributing to procurement transformation initiatives, process improvements and team development projects.
- Keeping abreast of procurement legislation, market developments and industry best practice to ensure compliance and continuous enhancement of procurement activities.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Degree-qualified or working towards a professional procurement qualification such as MCIPS.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex tendering and sourcing projects within a structured procurement environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience of supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Sound understanding of procurement legislation, governance and best practice principles.
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate markets, suppliers and commercial opportunities.
- Experience using eProcurement systems and procurement technology platforms.
