Your new company Hays are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organisation to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their operations team at their Belfast site. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business that has undergone significant positive change and is now operating in a more agile, fast-paced environment.

Your new role As Purchasing Manager, you will take ownership of the procurement function while leading a small team across purchasing and stores. You will be responsible for driving procurement strategy, improving supplier performance, and ensuring materials are sourced efficiently to meet production demands. The role will involve hands-on supplier negotiation, contract management, and overseeing a global supply base. You will utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage forecasts, monitor inventory levels, and analyse key performance metrics such as cost, delivery, and stock turns.

You will also play a key role in leading planning discussions, supporting operational decision-making through data insights, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the supply chain. In addition, you will oversee the effective running of stores to support manufacturing operations.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Recent experience in a senior procurement or purchasing role within manufacturing
  • Strong background in supplier negotiation and contract management
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and data-driven decision-making
