Your new role

Your new job as a Year 1 teacher will be working either 4 or 5 days per week (if 4 days per week, the day off would be a Thursday). You will be required to take on full class responsibility, including planning, marking and assessing the children. You will need to be confident in phonics as the phonics screening next year will need to be administered. You must consider yourself a passionate teacher that loves creating an environment where children can grow.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this job you must be confident in teaching key stage 1 or have a background of teaching a Year 1 class as they are looking for someone to hit the ground running. You must be an excellent communicator to work with learning support assistants as well as parents and carers.

You must be someone who is happy to fully immerse yourself in school life.

What you’ll get in return

In return, you would get:

  • Guaranteed work either 4 or 5 days per week from January 2025

  • Be paid on a weekly basis

  • Accrue holiday pay

  • Have the option to pay into a private pension
