As the Purchasing Manager, you will be working with a colleague to ensure the correct quantities of goods and services are procured to allow efficient operation of farms across Africa (Senegal, Ghana and Algeria). This will include seeds, grains, fertiliser, machinery and disposable equipment. You will be responsible for a portfolio valued in excess of £100m p/a across the 3 countries. You will be responsible for the e2e procurement process, from supplier research, right through to ongoing supplier management post signature. You will work closely with the wider business to centralise purchasing operations across the 3 countries.
You will need to be fluent in Italian as well as English with the ability to conduct all day-to-day procurement activities. Previous experience working within an international farming/agricultural business is vital to allow you to hit the ground running in this role. Experience managing suppliers in African nations would be highly advantageous. You will need to have excellent commercial acumen with an ability to educate internal stakeholders on the value of procurement functions. You should be able to commute to the office in Central London 5 days a week for the first 3-6 months as the team embeds and develops in London.
You will be entitled to a base salary of up to £80,000 p/a alongside 26 days of annual leave (increasing to 28 with service), and an enhanced pension scheme. What you need to do now
