A successful regional main contractor is now seeking an experienced project manager to oversee a new-build education project in SE London. Working across multiple sectors, including residential, healthcare, education and heritage, they typically work on schemes in the £2 – 15 Mill range and are experiencing an extremely busy period with a full orderbook for 2025 and beyond. This is a newly created role and will run for the duration of the scheme initially with future work in the area already being discussed.
Your new role
As Project manager, you will be number 1 on site and have sole responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, reporting when needed to a senior contracts manager. Responsibilities include writing short-term programmes, contributing to design meetings, subcontract management, Quality control, H&S and generally managing the costs and potential risks. You will manage your own small team of assistant managers and site admin and work closely with an office-based Qs & buyer.
You will be an experienced Site manager or Project manager and have managed £10 Mill plus schemes from start to finish. You will hold a valid First Aid, CSCS & SMSTS ticket and have worked for a Main contractor/SME. This is a permanent role, albeit potentially available on a fixed trem contract.
