As a housing officer, you will be joining a team based in Kings Road, Tysley. The team consists of 4 technical housing officers, undertaking complex anti-social behaviour (ASB) investigations, dealing with hoarding and hygiene cases, and no access cases.
You will also be dealing with urgent flooding and fire and major disrepaired tenancies.
Complex ASB cases can include; hate crimes, drug/alcohol related crimes, hoarding and animal nuisance.
You will also be supporting vulnerable tenants to sustain their BCC tenancies.
You will be covering 3 major areas; Small Heath, Alum Rock and Hodge Hill, averaging around 25-30 cases at one time. Cases will be updated regularly and each case given will need to be investigated and visited, with fortnightly reviews by management.
To be successful in this role, you will need knowledge and understanding of legislation in relation to Housing Act 2004, experience with enforcing anti-social behaviour and case management.
You will need first hand experience using systems like Northgate and CXM, as they do not have the capacity to train in this area.
Knowledge and understanding of investigative techniques and the law of evidence including legal / court procedures and knowledge and understanding of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act as it relates to the collection of effective evidence.
Experience as a Housing Officer specifically dealing with ASB is required.
In addition, this role will be an ASAP start, which before starting you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks, upon registration please have your 2 most recent employment details available for reference checks.
This role is a full-time, temporary position based in Birmingham, Tysley. The role is £18.78 per hour (PAYE) which is due to last around 6 months, depending on budgeting this may be extended but is not guaranteed.
Due to the council going through a period of transition, permanent opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
