Hays Education are looking for a finance officer to join our friendly and professional school team based in the Morecambe area. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s financial records, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and standards., This is a full-time finance post based in Morecambe with hours of approximately 8am – 4pm on an ongoing basis (initially for 4-8 weeks) starting ASAP.
Your new role

Preparing, processing and reconciling invoices, orders, payments and receipts

Producing and analysing financial reports and statements for the school leadership team and governors

Auditing accounts and ensuring accuracy and completeness of data

Ordering and managing stock and resources for the school

Supporting the school business manager with budget planning and monitoring
Do you have excellent numeracy and accounting skills?
Do you have experience of working with financial systems and processes?, * Experience of working in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a school or educational setting

Knowledge of financial systems and software, such as Sage, PS Financials, SIMS or FMS

Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

An enhanced DBS check on the update service would be ideal but not essential.
