Your new company

Your new company is a local and well-respected manufacturing company, based in Nelson which supplies a range of customers across the UK and Europe. Due to an upcoming retirement, they are now seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing debt and ensuring timely payments to maintain efficient cash flow. Your responsibilities will include chasing overdue accounts, performing daily banking and monthly bank reconciliations, processing customer payments and invoices, and resolving customer queries. You will also be involved in processing supplier invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and assisting in preparing financial reports to ensure compliance with VAT and accounting periods

This is a full-time role, working from 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need proven experience in credit control, accounts payable, and receivable functions. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to build rapport with customers and colleagues. Proficiency in IT, particularly in SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required. You should have a keen attention to detail, the ability to manage conflicting priorities, and be a motivated self-starter capable of working independently. Experience in the import and export of goods is advantageous but not essential.

What you’ll get in return

In return for this, you will be offered a salary between £26,000 – £30,000. Alongside this, you will also receive benefits inclusive of 30 days holiday, onsite parking, occasional working from home, annual bonus (both individual and profit based) and pension scheme.
