My client is a high-profile, award-winning, global construction and engineering consultancy with offices in central Newcastle. There is currently an opportunity for a senior lawyer (5+ PQE to senior) seeking an in-house role and who has a particular interest in matters of construction law, particularly in relation to major contracts (especially in the consultancy agreements and building contracts space).
Whilst the core work is most certainly non-contentious construction-related, there will also be the opportunity to have exposure to matters such as general commercial contracts, GDPR, IPR, commercial litigation, professional indemnity insurance etc. No previous experience is needed in these areas.
The successful candidate will work with the global business, undertaking detailed contractual documentation review and providing advice and engaging in negotiations, as well as advising on matters of risk management. This role comes with a significant amount of responsibility, working within a very experienced team.
This role will be particularly well-suited to those private practice construction lawyers with solid non-contentious construction experience. Hybrid working and this role is only for solicitors qualified in England and Wales. Lawyers MUST live within a daily commuting distance of Newcastle upon Tyne.
On offer is a fabulous package, bespoke to the level of the successful lawyer and the opportunity to work in a collegiate and high-performing legal team.
To learn more about this role, please send your CV to Adele Callaghan (specifying full details of your current remuneration package) or email me for a return call to discuss the role.
