Regulatory Barrister 2+ To £££

This market-leading health/social care firm is looking to hire a regulatory advocate to present cases at final substantive hearings and represent regulators at interim applications and case management hearings. Cases include those involving dishonesty, fraud, sexual misconduct, and serious instances of deficient professional performance. Clients include health and social care regulators as well as those in legal services and education.

Enjoy working on some of the most complex and high-profile cases and have the opportunity to get involved in case direction at all stages of the investigation and preparation process. It is likely there will also be opportunities to appear in the High Court and First Tier Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the regulators.

Responsibilities:

  1. Present cases at final substantive hearings.
  2. Represent regulators at interim applications and case management hearings.
  3. Engage in case direction during investigations and preparation processes.
  4. Appear in the High Court and First Tier Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the regulators.

Requirements:

  1. Advocacy experience, including trial/final hearing advocacy, is essential.
  2. Experience in a professional disciplinary/fitness to practice context is preferable, but applicants with the required skills and experience from other sectors will also be considered.
