Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a values-led not-for-profit organisation? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join a busy and supportive HR team on an initial 4-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to be extended or become permanent. Start ASAP in July/August.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will provide a comprehensive HR generalist service across the organisation, partnering with managers and supporting a wide range of employee relations and people-focused projects.
About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll play a key role in delivering operational HR support while helping to drive strategic people initiatives. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a wide range of Employee Relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, capability, performance management and investigations.
- Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers across the organisation.
- Supporting organisational change initiatives, including consultations relating to pay, hours and contractual changes.
- Leading and contributing to key HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the review, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Working closely with internal EDI networks and employee groups to promote an inclusive workplace culture.
- Assisting with talent management and succession planning activities to support future organisational growth.
- Analysing HR data and identifying opportunities to improve people processes and employee experience.
- Supporting the HR Manager with day-to-day operational and strategic HR activities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience operating at Senior HR Advisor level within a busy HR environment.
- Strong Employee Relations knowledge and experience managing complex casework independently.
- Excellent understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting or leading HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
